Details:

I’ve had these two yarns for quite a while but have never found the right project for either. I happened to have them next to each other and realized they looked great together, so I decided to try a weaving project with them. I warped a 4×4 warp using both yarns (starting and ending with the Sweet Sparrow) and then did a 4×4 weft as well (starting and ending with the Undead).

I’m really happy with the soft checkered patterning that resulted, and I love how the bright shots of color from the Undead look when they cross over each other. The Merino/Silk base of the Sweet Sparrow gives the whole piece a really pretty sheen.

I’ve blocked it, but I haven’t finished the fringe yet. I’m not sure yet if I’ll leave it as a scarf or if I’ll turn it into a fringey cowl. Either way, I think I’m going to save it and add it to my shop, as I want to start selling woven items.
